Can I Remotely Access a Cell Phone Over a Wireless Network Or in some Other Way?
I want to be able to remotely access my GSM cell phone from a PC. Can this be done through Wireless LAN / bluetooth (range limitations
) or some other remote connection way?
Do any symbian OS based or windows mobile phones support such a functionality?

It is possible to access the phone through all the said methods. I will explain how to do this with a Series 60 symbian phone:
1. Access your phones folders : If your phone has WiFi, then you can run the SymSMB software on the phone, and you will be able to browse through phone folders from your PC, as if you are accessing another PC on the network. If you do not have Wifi, you can use the normal PC suite software which comes with Nokia to access your phones folders via USB/Bluetooth.
2. Phone as a web server : You can access your phones data by making the phone act like a web server(install web server for S60). You will be able to choose whether you want the web server be ont he internet (by choosing either 3G, GPRS or internet connected WiFi access point), or you can choose it to be accessibe only from your LAN(by choosing to connect to an access point without internet connection)
3. Full control of the phone: You can control your PC which is on the internet, if you use the VNC+ software ont the phone, and run the VNC server in the PC. Unfortunately, the reverse of controlling mobile using VNC is not possible because there is still not a VNC server for symbian. However, there are a number of applications which will let you remotely control your mobile from your laptop through USB/Bluetooth
If you phone has bluetooth then yes…..You will need a bluetooth usb stick for the pc as well, sothat the pc can communicate with the cell phone. Some phones have infrared as well, so you would then also need an infrared stick for your pc.
The sticks normally come with a cd for installing software which will make life a lot easier when you transfer data to and fro
Assuming you use Nokia, with Nokia PC Suite you can only access your phone from computer that has this software, so from the network basically you need to remotely access the computer that connected to phone and from that you can connect to phone so it doesn’t directly connect to the phone
Yes you can access thru bluetooth just install the drivers or there is a laptop supported by wirless then you need to install usb bluetooth in your PC to see each other……
